During a recent trip to Southern California to attend my grandmother's 100th birthday, and to attend a business meeting three days later, I was fortunate to be able to get out during the evenings for sunset photos at San Clemente and Laguna Beach.

On Sunday evening, the photo above was taken from the park that sits just above the pier area of San Clemente.  Earlier that evening, I caught this photo below near the shore.

On Monday evening, after work, I headed down to Laguna Beach to the Treasure Island area, and was fortunate to have clouds that provided some interesting skies during sunset.

On Tuesday evening, again after work, I again decided to drive down to Laguna Beach to the 1000 Steps Beach area, where there is a cave that is accessible during low tide.  While it looked like the clouds were going to block throughout the evening, I was fortunate to have the sun slip just under the clouds and throw out some amazing colors right at sunset.

On Wednesday morning, January 31, the Lunar Eclipse was scheduled to appear during the early morning hours, with a combination of a Super Moon and Blood Moon, which is a very rare event.  I went down to Laguna Beach to catch some photos, on my way up to Los Angeles for a business meeting scheduled later that morning.

After the business meeting in Los Angeles, I was able to make it back to the Laguna Beach area for one final evening.  I decided to try the Woods Cove section, which is known for its rock formations.
